Our Mission

Trees for Lives is a humanitarian and environmental non-profit organization that is set out on a mission to reach the indigenous people of Indonesia. Trees for Lives creates economic growth and environmental restoration through planting trees, strategically carried out to.

Give income and training to the people: When trees are planted locals are hired in to work the land, giving them a job and income. A Trees for Lives site is more than just planting trees. We also provide small business training. The people are trained in agriculture as they help grow and harvest the crops, but are also equipped to start other small businesses so they are not secluded only to agriculture.

Restore the environment: Indonesia is known for lush forest and great soil. Unfortunately millions of acres of land have been clear cut for many different reasons all over the country. Trees for Lives is an initiative that is focused on planting trees throughout Indonesia. The areas that we plant in will STAY green, so that our trees will reduce carbon emissions for years and years to come.

Provide a sustainable solution: Poverty is a Global problem. Investing in a temporary solution is simple, but a sustainable improvement can be difficult. Our mission is creating sustainable solutions for those in need that won’t change their day, month or year, but a solution that will change their lives. In rural Indonesia the solution is trees. Planting trees starts a chain reaction. Harvesting the trees provides a job and small business training, the job and training provides income and skills, income and skills equip people to send their kids to school, expand their opportunities past farming, and allows for more basic living needs to be met.
