While it is a contemporary buzzword, the word empower is rooted in the 17th century legal system meaning “to invest with authority.” Since that time, it has taken on significance and meaning in various groups and movements; most recent being held captive by the political and corporate systems. While the word still survives today, it has been rendered insignificant by the talking heads that over use words without comprehending their meaning. We intend to take it back.

On the water

It has been said through wise words of wisdom and through cheesy pop songs that the youth of today are the future. But in many parts of the world, young people will never get the chance to lead. The culture, the environment, the economic situation that they were born into dictates that they may not have a chance. In our Youth Empowerment program you give a young person in another country a glimpse of what can be. Your example and your talents can help bring hope to young people whose playground is the town dump. Help bring clean water; a community center; a home; and hope for the future.

Jakarta

Indonesia’s capital is the perfect place to begin helping youth. We will go to the orphanages and community centers to build along side of youth.

Palembang

The we move over to Palembang. This developing area has many needs and many opportunities to serve the community. The final days of the trip will be spent in high adventure. White water rafting, jungle hiking, and canoing down a tropical forest river are just a few of the fun and interesting things Indonesia has to offer.
